Microsoft Lumia 535 Smartphone Release Date

Microsoft Lumia 535 Review: So long Nokia, hello microsoft Lumia 535 (hands-on)

Microsoft Lumia 535 Smartphone Release Date-Microsofts first smartphone wont likely make an impression you if you are considering your next high-end system. While the Lumia 535 waves goodbye for the Nokia brand, it wont replace it using any flair.

Microsoft Lumia 535 Smartphone

Microsoft Lumia 535 Release Date

Sporting a quad-core 1. 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor plus a 5-inch 960x540-pixel show, the phone is decidedly aimed towards the lower end from the market, although its running the latest Windows Phone 8. 1. The expense of just €110 can make it pretty affordable actually for developing international locations -- that equals roughly $135, £85 or perhaps AU$155, although expect ultimate local prices to alter with taxes and also subsidies.

The Microsoft Lumia 535 is determined to debut throughout November in Russian federation, Ukraine, China, Indonesia plus the Philippines, while those moving into Australia, Vietnam, Thailand and unspecified international locations in Africa will dsicover this phone throughout December. January will dsicover the Lumia 535 offered in Latin America likewise, while Microsoft has promised it will come to britain in the very first quarter of 2015. You will discover no plans for the US launch.

Pattern

If you were worried that the Microsoft rebrand would bring about a new style for Lumia telephones, fear not -- at the least not yet. The Lumia 535, the sequel for the Lumia 530, sticks for the same proven formula because current range associated with handsets. Thats to convey, it has the plastic back and also clean lines using rounded corners. This resembles the elderly Lumia 530, nevertheless bigger and dieter.

While I anticipate an updated design if the software giant will eventually launch it is first flagship phone, its sticking to the old for now.

At 9. 4mm heavy, the phone will be quite comfortable to hold on to and the ends dont dig straight into your palm. The 5-inch show is narrow enough that you can still use that with one hand (unless you have really small hands). The glossy rear deal with is removable, and also besides bright natural, comes in additional colors as well, such as violet, orange, dark dull, black and white-colored.

Microsoft will in addition be selling the flip cover accessory which has a small slit on the inside for a plastic card. I wasnt too impressed while using flip cover, even so the credit card slot is pretty a useful contact.

Components

Besides the quad-core Snapdragon 200 and low-res 5-inch show, the Lumia 535 also is sold with 5-megapixel front and also rear cameras. It has 1GB of RAM MEMORY, 8GB of onboard storage plus a microSD card slot that supports around 128GB cards.

It will be powered by the 1, 905mAh battery pack, which should be adequate to last you through a day. It offers two SIM-card slot machines and Microsoft claims both will assist simultaneous 3G online connectivity, which gives that a leg up in contrast to phones that complete only 3G in one slot. It doesnt always have 4G LTE, which weve begun to discover on phones with this budget, such because (frankly terrible) Huawei Rise Y550.

Prospect

The Microsoft Lumia 535 isnt really exactly a standout system, which is amazing, as I had been hoping Microsoft would likely use its first phone to show off what it might do. Instead, you get more of identical, though this isnt a bad thing.

The target market because of this phone will be countries certainly where an high-end flagship could be priced from the range of a lot of people, so the Lumia 535 tends to make an affordable start off for Microsofts own-brand phone range. Well have a full review to suit your needs soon.

Kwilt For iOS Review

Kwilt For iOS Review: Great looking photo manager, does not have the basic features

Kwilt For iOS Review-Positive (Kwilt is a new application that looks so great that allows you to edit and mengolase from your photo collections, even if your photos stay in some social networks). Negative (overall layout looks messy. You can not edit individual photos in a collage, or save your project to be completed later). Important (Although some of the features look promising, Kwilt currently has too many kinks annoying to record the Photos app as the default mobile photo editor).

Kwilt For iOS

Kwilt App

Kwilt for iOS want to be a one-stop shop for all about the photos that have a basic photo editing tools, can import images from a variety of social networking and web services, and lets you create slideshows. Perhaps most interesting is a nice tool called Kwilt Captures which automatically create collages of your photos.

Some of the features found in Kwilt only duplicate the functions found in the Apple app Photo. Other features, such as photo editing and combining features found in other third-party photo app. That makes this application unique is an easy process to connect to multiple social networks, but will require an application process before entering into your photo.

Prepare

Setup for Kwilt relatively easy, after making Kwilt account, you must give the application access to photos stored on your iOS device. You also have the option to collect photos from Instagram, Facebook, Dropbox, Flickr, Google+ and Google Drive to take them all into account your Kwilt.

By importing photos from a variety of sources, Kwilt become a one-stop-shop for both browsing and editing photos. If you want to setup Kwilt on secondary devices, such as iPad, you just need to log into your account Kwilt.

Navigation Interface

Overall Kwilt intuitive interface design and looks great when youre working with your photos. In most photos related applications on mobile devices, most of us are accustomed to seeing our photos displayed vertically. With Kwilt, your photos will be displayed horizontally in chronological order. So, instead of swiping down to find the older images, you simply swipe left alone. When you swipe, your photos will be displayed in a variety of sizes, appear as random collage

The problem with this approach is often interrupted photo. For the most part, the application does a decent job to identify faces and display them in a preview thumbnail, but not perfect. Sometimes we find it difficult to identify the photograph anything until we really have to reopen. But it would be an advanced problem is amplified when you start connecting more services and add more photos to the app.

If the chronological order of unstructured, you can fix the command by pressing on the top bar and select from the list of categories. Here you will be able to sort by screen, media services, location, and photos of your iOS album.

Edit Photos

When you select a photo, you can perform different actions using Kwilt. You can share with others, began to slide, sending photos via AirPlay, or edit it using editing tools Kwilt.

Choosing Edit asks you to choose between standard resolution editing, or high-res copy of the photo. High-res edits only available if you are willing to pay about $ 2.99 via in-app purchase.

For standard resolution, Kwilt offers a complete list of editing tools. Most are free, such as adding filters and stickers, whitening teeth and remove stains. You can also cut, draw and add text. Through the built-in store, Kwilt offer additional effect, namely Stickers and Frames. Most packages at a price of about $ 1.99.

Kwilts editing tools do not offer innovative features (although we would say teeth whitening tool works impressive and well). However, with a tool that can be a good replacement for the default iPhone Photos app with a few more improvements to the interface.

Using Catch Kwilt

Developers and users alike Market app photo - just constantly looking for something different and unique. Catch Kwilt be a killer feature of this app, letting you create collages quickly, but unfortunately it could use some refining as well.

To create a capture Kwilt you can enter selection mode while viewing your photos with a long press on any image. Red check mark will appear in the photo, letting you know that you can continue to select more content.

When you have selected all the photos you want in Kwilt, you can begin the process of adjustment Capture. Before you make the next step to continue. Once you get started, the application will not let you out of Kwilt Capture to add more photos without having to redo your work. So, if you spend a few minutes rearranging collage, you should be aware that you need to complete three more photos, and you will return to the starting point.

Earlier in this review we mentioned thumbnail sometimes cut the photo. The same thing applies to photos placed in Kwilt Capture, with the only way to change what is displayed is the relocation of the photos in the collage. In other words, you can not shift or zoom in on the photo; You can only add or reduce its size by moving to a different location. If the content you want to display does not appear correctly in one container collage that has been set, it means that you are less fortunate. Adding editing function, zooming, and panning photos in the collage are also being considered for future updates.

Android Planet provides you seven days a week from the best and most current news, but it can happen that you are missing an important development now and then. Therefore, there is every Saturday the AP newsflash with Android news!

Popcorn Time goes users anonymizing Tor-like network

Popcorn Time io ap news flash Popcorn Time is working on an anonymous” Tor-like network “allowing users to automatically be anonymised as soon as they use illegal software to stream movies and series. That leaves a spokesman of Popcorn-Time.se. Popcorn Time says “constant” to be attacked by societies as Brain, and introduce two important innovations for themselves and its users ‘protect’ too. The first innovation is Popcorn Time’s independence from servers. “We’re going all the information used by the software, such as obtaining lists of films and subtitles even sharing over peer-to-peer. In addition, the software be future updates v ia peer-to-peer distributed, so we do not need more servers. Each user then forms a server where others can download “, says the spokesman. Another important innovation is within the network. To provide users anonymity , Popcorn Time makes it possible to use a VPN. However, this does not work often. “We’re too popular, so our vpn provider Kebrum can not always meet the demand. Therefore, we think about other ways to anonymize users. “

Upcoming major Android update coming this year

android 5.2 While few Android users have Android 5.0 or 5.1, we can expect this year Android 5.2. Google has announced that the next major release of Android M working title is available before the end of the year. What exactly can we expect from Android 5.2, is unclear. Well it will be a bigger update than Android 5.1, the version that is already being supplied with cheap Android One smartphones in Indonesia. This update is likely to provide the return of the silent mode in Lollipop. This was removed in Android 5.0 and replaced by a new system of messages, priority alerts and notifications. Further, Android 5.1 should improve the battery and memory consumption. Now Lollipop is still suffering from a strange geheugenbug which ensures that the software sometimes suddenly not enough RAM can achieve more. The update in the short term is also expected for Nexus and Google Play devices.

Chromecast sold 10 million times in 2014

chrome cast Google last year sold a whopping 10 million Chromecasts. Moreover, the use of the smart stick HDMI greatly increased. Design Samsung Galaxy S6 looks suspiciously like iPhone 6

Samsung Galaxy S6 press photo The Samsung Galaxy S6 gets a design with rounded corners that what road has the iPhone 6, according to alleged photos of the housing of the device. The device would have a 5.1 inch screen and a battery that can not be removed. It is striking that not only the corners of the frame, but also the USB slot and speaker grille on the bottom much like those of the new iPhone Furthermore, the slot for the SIM card -. which was previously occupied by the removable battery -. to move the side The metal frame makes it likely that you can not remove the battery from the Galaxy S6, something it did in previous devices in the Galaxy S series. Accord ing to the latest reports, the upcoming flagship Samsung presented on March 1, exactly one day before the start of electronics fair MWC.

Sony sells finally smartphones

sony-large Sony has sold in the fourth quarter of 2014 11.9 million smartphones, considerably more than in previous quarters. Previously, Sony would consider selling the smartphone division, but the latest rumor says that Sony wants to dismiss 100 employees in this division. Perhaps the layoff easy, because Sony has presented attractive sales. In the fourth quarter of 2014 the Japanese manufacturer sold 11.9 million smartphones, the highest number since the beginning of 2012. This smartphone sales finally seems to pull in a bit for Sony. It is unclear what devices have created the sales successes, but we expect the Xperia and Xperia Z3 Z3 Compact have sold well. The budget models from Sony are received by us and will have been popular with consumers.

New Nexus 7 Review

Google is out with a new version of the Nexus 7 tablet, and its a refresh in every sense of the word. The real focus is on the improved display. This is the highest-resolution seven-inch tablet on the market.

A major improvement over the last-gen model, the display on the sleeker tablet has a 1920 x 1200 resolution with a pixel density of 323 ppi. The 7-point touch IPS panel is supposed to be not just scratch-resistant, but also fingerprint smudge resistant. Up in the top left corner youll find a 5-megapixel camera and a new, larger "Nexus" logo that runs vertically rather than horizontally when holding the tablet in portrait mode.

Nexus 7 is made by ASUS and packs a serious punch. With a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and 2 GB of RAM, everything runs faster. Plus, high-performance rendering ensures 3D graphics are smooth and dynamic. It is packed with a latest version of android Jelly bean 4.3 and comes in 16 GB and 32 GB variants. It also has surround sound powered by Fraunhofer (the MP3 inventors).

The new Nexus 7 also feels more comfortable in hands. Its 17 per cent thinner and 5 per cent narrower when held like a portrait. The display is sharper and the sound is richer than the old model. Overall the new Nexus 7 is a well built, well-specd machine.

The Nexus 6 has a secret LED notification light

Some were dismayed to find that the Nexus 6 doesnt have an LED notification light, but as it turns out, the phone does — it just hasnt been enabled by the devices software.

Nexus 6

The hidden hardware easter egg was found by an XDA Developer forums tinkerer, who discovered a multi-colour LED that sits right in the middle of the Nexus 6s top speaker bar.

Forum user JMUT stumbled on the Nexus 6s hidden LED when using the Light Flow app, which lets you manually fiddle about with your phones LED light.

Before you get too excited, this little hack requires a rooted phone, as apps dont have access to the Nexus 6s LED without the deeper control rooting provides.

Secret flasher

It could do with the LED, though, as the Nexus 6 does not use the Active Display feature seen in other Motorola phones — for those not dangerously obsessed with all things Android, Motorola makes the Nexus 6 for Google.

Instead, it lets you see notifications from your lock screen. Its good, but not quite as immediate as either Active Display or an LED light.

Active Display shows notifications before you even turn your phone on. Youll find it in the 2014 Moto X.

According to the creator of Light Flow, the app used to discover the Nexus 6s LED, the unit refuses to flash/pulsate, suggesting that even after a hack or two we may not be able to get the full LED notification effect some people are after. But this is still one to keep an eye on.

HTC Hima new rumors about the upcoming flagship HTC

HTC

Until now we thought the successor to the HTC One M8 came to be called HTC One M9, as happened similarly with the successor of the first HTC One. But, according to new filtration, the next flagship of the Taiwanese company HTC might finally answer to the name of HTC Hima. Thus, the HTC One M9 actually be called HTC Hima, and its launch should take place during the month of March next year 2015 (coinciding, perhaps, with the Mobile World Congress 2015 technology event).

Reveals the same source of this leak, @upleaks from the user of the social network Twitter, HTC Hima be presented with a five-inch screen to reach a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The processor chosen for this terminal Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 correspond to an eight-core  in which four cores operate at a clock speed of 2GHz and four do so at a clock speed of 1.5 GHz.

HTC

The RAM will have a capacity of 3 gigabytes, while the operating system installed as standard on the HTC Hima correspond to Android in its latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop (accompanied by the HTC Sense interface HTC Sense 7.0 version, the has already starred in a filtration as screenshots).

HTC

An interesting aspect of this filter lies in a fact which had suffered the odd rumor: HTC could leave UltraPixel technology in its next HTC Hima, so that the main camera of this new smartphone incorporates a single sensor 20.7 megapixels. In fact, the first concepts of the successor of HTC One M8 show exactly a main camera with a single sensor. The front camera could incorporate either a sensor of 13 megapixels or perhaps a four megapixel sensor UltraPixel. The battery capacity of 2,840 mAh reaches.

However, this information does not match the rumors we drove up to this point in relation to HTC One M9 or HTC Hima. As is known so far, the HTC One M9 incorporate a screen of 5.5 inches with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad core processor running at 2.7 GHz, 3 gigabytes of RAM, between 64 and 128 gigabytes of internal storage a battery capacity of 3,500 mAh and a speaker system designed by the company Bose.

For now all this information belongs to assumptions and extra-official data sources. Therefore, it is very difficult to determine what data correspond to the characteristics of which will become the next smartphone from HTC. Chances are that during the month of March we leave doubts about the surprise that this company has in hand for next year.

Nikon D610

The words entry-level and full-frame tend not to go hand in hand. Given that close to £1,500 needs to be spent for that full-frame experience - and thats before considering lens costs - you need to be sure that youre ready to dip into the larger-sensor world.
The D610 replaces the earlier D600 and, frankly, doesnt change much. If you scour the internet you will find a series of complaints about some Nikon D600 owners experiencing issues with oil on the cameras sensor. Its not an issue we had, but the sudden arrival of the D610, with only a modest bump in features, suggests that its a solution to brush any issues of its predecessor under the carpet. It does have a new shutter mechanism after all.
That might disappoint if you were hoping for a truly next-level experience, as the D610 only really adds Wi-Fi accessory compatibility and an ever so slightly faster burst rate to its predecessor. But the other side of the coin is that it retains all the good stuff of its predecessor.
This camera is like the lovechild of the high-resolution D810 (see below) and D7100. As most people wont need the full feature set or 36-megapixel resolution of the D810, the 24-megapixel D610 opens up the full-frame door to a wider audience. Top image quality for a great price. Slick stuff - and not an oil slick this time around.
PRICE: £1,399 (body only, at the time of writing)

Its Sunday Photo 02 of the Week

This photo has been taken by a XiaoMi Mi 2A.

It is a photo of small city in the province of ZheJiang. 20 years ago, the whole area didnt look like anything and this part of the city has small houses around the river. People used to go to the river to wash their dishes ans clothes.

Those last years, many cities enforced some environmental friendly rules and got rivers cleaned from most of the pollution. 10 years ago, it would have been unimaginable to get into the water, nowadays, you can swim in this very river and cross it if you want.
New houses have been built and they are extremely expensive, the average square meter of the house in this photo cost at least RMB 60 000 (US$ 9800).

This photo has been taken from my aunts home which is in building.

Because of the change of the processor, and 4G becomes a single card, so this is also re-tested the electricity, as usual, with more power to test the usage of the screen to open light, using Wi-Fi, 4G also drove standby, automatic synchronization is also open , turn off the power saving mode, while others maintain the default state, so go on continuous playback of HD videos YouTube

Such tests ran down the total by about four hours, with the 3G version was tested when almost ZF5 also tested the phone with a lot of the same, to maintain consumption in general. Xiaomi and Flipkart Crack Down on Mi 3 Redmi 1S Reselling in India

Xiaomi is known for setting a low price on its smartphones and selling them in batches of several thousand in weekly sales. In nearly all of these sales, 10,000 to 60,000 phones were sold out in a few seconds. This has frustrated several people who have failed to buy a Xiaomi smartphone even after several attempts.
Sensing the high demand and low supply, quite a few people have started adding these phones to their cart on Flipkart and trying to sell them at a profit on classifieds websites. As soon as Xiaomis weekly sales close a little after 2 pm every Tuesday, a lot of people have also tried to sell these phones via the comments here at NDTV Gadgets (comments that we promptly delete). What is Xiaomi doing to tackle this problem? NDTV Gadgets spoke to Xiaomis India head Manu Jain at a conference in Bangalore to find out.
Jain is very vocal about his displeasure at people trying to resell Xiaomi smartphones.
"I personally hate this [reselling at profit]," says Jain, adding that Xiaomi is aware of the problem and is actively trying to curb it.
"We are working closely with Flipkart to block people who are gaming the system. Flipkart has an algorithm that blocks people from buying phones if they add repeatedly add [Xiaomi] phones to their carts but dont buy them," Jain says. This is just one of the various flags that the algorithm works on.
Jain says that he himself has bought Xiaomi smartphones for his family members via Flipkart.
"I keep buying phones from Xiaomi and even rival brands, just to see what the competition is doing. After I bought 7 or 8 phones, my account was blocked from buying phones on Flipkart," Jain says, adding that the algorithm probably flagged his account as similar to those of resellers.
Jain says Xiaomi is aware of certain people using scripts and browser extensions to automatically add phones to their carts.
"Flipkart is trying to block those scripts because its not fair to buyers. I recently saw some people complaining online that they couldnt buy [Xiaomi] phones in spite of using these scripts. That means Flipkarts block is working," he says. When asked whether Xiaomi has considered approaching browser makers such as Google to block extensions, Jain laughs, "Thats a good suggestion. Thank you." He adds, "We hadnt thought of that, but well consider it."
Thats just one of the steps Flipkart has taken. It took just 5.2 seconds for Xiaomi to sell 60,000 Redmi 1S smartphones in its most recent sale on Flipkart. This is the time taken for people to add it to their carts on Flipkart. After this, buyers have to complete the checkout process within four hours, Jain says.
"Earlier, we gave people almost one-and-a-half days to complete checkout which used to give [some people] a lot of time to sell these phones on other websites. This time it was just 4 hours. We had to extend this by some time because of certain technical issues, but were trying to shorten the checkout time as well," he says.
He says Flipkart and to a lesser extent, Xiaomi, have also been checking websites where people were trying to resell Xiaomi smartphones. "Were trying to track these people and get their accounts blocked," Jain says.
All of these are short-term solutions to solve the problem. One long-term solution that Xiaomi announced recently is the introduction of a priority pass. The company announced that those who have tried to buy its phones repeatedly and failed will be offered a priority pass, which will automatically add a phone to their carts. They will have to complete the checkout process within a stipulated period of time.
Jain says Xiaomi will put a significantly higher number of smartphones for sale every week. Although he didnt mention an exact number, reports suggest that Xiaomi could be offering as many as 1,00,000 smartphones for sale every week.

By , | 1 comment

There are pictures leaked, where possible, the premium version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 state. It seems that the smartphone is made of aluminum.

In a leaked press render is in fact shows that the device has the same kind of back like the HTC One M8. The plastic back design that sits on the regular Galaxy S5 is gone.

The press render is in the hands of reliable @ evleaks. According to him, the device will be called the Samsung Galaxy F. Through a tip, he believes that Samsung is going to take leave of the Galaxy S line. There’s no Galaxy S6.

The Samsung Galaxy F will probably be launched during Unpacked Episode 2. Probably during the IFA fair in Berlin, early September. The Galaxy F was rumored to have a 5.3 inch screen. To compete with the LG G3 would also screen the Galaxy F given a qHD screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.

Asus ET2300INTI All in one PC

Asus ET2300INTI Review: Asus all-in-one gets Thunderbolt, WiDi support

Asus ET2300INTI All-in-one PC-The Good Additional features like Thunderbolt slots and Intel Wifi Display technology strengthen the strong core aspects of the touch-screen Asus ET2300INTI-B022K All-in-one PC. The Bad Asset PC styling will not likely win this Asus method any design awards. The Bottom Line It isnt really the most attractive PC on the market, but the Asus ET2300INTI has a broad array of features which will entice those buying mainstream Windows 8 all-in-one.

Asus ET2300INTI All-in-one PC

Asus ET2300INTI-B022K Desktop Pc

The Asus ET2300INTI presents a robust alternative to popular the dainty Vizio CA24T-A4 all-in-one. Where Vizio pared away features in the interest of a low-profile physical appearance, Asus has used an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach featuring a midrange Windows 8 all-in-one. Even though not everyone ought the Asus a lot more outlandish features, including Thunderbolt ports or maybe Intel Wireless Present technology, this $1, 299 PC can be a better value than the Vizio system overall, and Id be more prone to recommend it being a touch-screen desktop just for this price range.

Neither system sets a new standard for PERSONAL COMPUTER design, but Asus for the most part does not look like chasing after a certain aesthetic with your ET2300INTI. Where Vizio is trying to present a new minimalist, anticomputer character, the brushed-aluminum-and-black-plastic Asus system simply appears to be yet another carry out commodity PC design and style.

If its physical appearance isnt remarkable, the Asus ET2300INTI Canada can at the very least say that its got a more touch-friendly design and style. The adjustable support arm around the Asus system helps you lay the keep an eye on in tabletop method. Its not really as incrementally adjustable as I need -- the design in the arm is so that even tilting your screen back a few degrees also brings down the display vertically. Its still more flexible than the Vizio system, you simply cant recline the display more than about 35 certifications. The Asus touchscreen display screen also felt a lot more responsive.

Asus went all-out with regard to equipping the ET2300INTI together with up-to-date features, nevertheless it comes out looking a lot better than the Vizio method even before we explore the nonstandard center computing specs. The desktop CPU in the Asus provides a big advantage over your Vizios mobile chip. Asus also includes more system memory, a full-speed harddrive, and a under the radar graphics card, these all are better than their equivalent parts in the Vizio system.

Design and features

It is possible to probably consider a new Blu-ray drive your left-out "kitchen sink" in this particular Asus configuration. Whether you might appreciate the DVD burner you receive instead is controversial, but its hard find fault Vizio for causing out an optical travel entirely. The Asus DVD MOVIE burner certainly isnt going to hurt, but that feature has grown less important every day.

Aside from its core specs, Asus has extra two features you simply wont find in quite a few Windows PCs: Thunderbolt slots and an Intel Wifi Display adapter. The Thunderbolt ports did wonders easily enough, extending the display more than a single cable connected to an Apple Thunderbolt Cinema Display. We havent any other Thunderbolt devices around to test, which perhaps points on the larger question: will the likely buyers on this PC also want Thunderbolt? I suspect that they will not, but including Thunderbolt at the very least gives Asus a point of check-box parity together with Apples newer iMac.

The Wireless Present (WiDi) tech is usually arguably more consistent with the needs in the mainstream consumer who might prefer this Asus method, although that even offers some big caveats. The Intel-driven tech has become more of an experiment than a killer feature. The concept is that it transmits your Personal computers video signal straight away to a television or some other display equipped having a WiDi receiver. Several newer, more expensive Tvs have WiDi receivers built-in. Otherwise you can find a standalone WiDi radio for $100 roughly.

Asus includes simply no WiDi receiver using the ET2300INTI, so you have to bring your personal. Even then, will possibly not have luck creating a connection. I tried connecting to some WiDi-equipped TV from LG, and a mistake message popped on the Asus method informing me how the LGs adapter has not been compatible with Windows 8. A fix is actually a mere firmware replace away, although the most up-to-date update, from mid-November, was apparently bad enough.

Even if WiDi never worked, or if it wasnt included to begin with, I dont believe a lot of people would miss it as a result of poor image quality under even the best conditions. With WiDi or maybe no, the Asus still has strong features because of its price.

Performance

I assume HP, Dell, and also other PC vendors will probably field competitive Windows 8 all-in-ones in this particular price range before the end of the entire year. Of the upper-midrange all-in-ones weve got tested, the Asus happens looking like a new stellar performer. Its multitasking times in particular are dramatically swifter than those of its competition, which speaks well just for this systems capabilities being a media file manipulator.

The budget graphics card can provide acceptable gaming overall performance, although you will probably readily find its limits with exceedingly aggressive image quality settings. I would also expect this product will show tension under more strenuous tasks like HI-DEF video editing or maybe professional-level 3D visuals rendering. Then once more, if youre serious about those kinds of tasks, chances are you arent buying PC like this place. For everyone different, the Asus ET2300INTI should offer a good amount of computing horsepower.

Rounding out and about the Asus ET2300INTI All-in-one PC, Asus includes HDMI-in, HDMI-out, in addition to six USB 3. 0 slots, all of which can be becoming increasingly frequent in mainstream all-in-one Personal computers. You also acquire S/PDIF audio out and about, an SD minute card jack, an eSATA insight, and a port with an included mini bass speaker or subwoofer. As with any cheap sub, the fidelity from the Asus unit falls apart at better volumes. It adds a small boost to sound recording depth, but inadequate to satisfy anyone thats serious about sound quality.

HTC Desire Eye first impressions review

The ultimate selfie-phone?

The HTC Desire Eye is a phone that presents more questions than answers when you first pick it up.

HTC Desire Eye

Its a phone with two 13MP cameras, front and back, that represents one of those moments in the smartphone game, the moments when a brand makes a jump forward by putting technology in a place where it wasnt before.

Its not quite on a par with the first cameraphone, or even the first front facing snapper on a handset, but it is an interesting idea that does raise some questions about what people are looking for with mobile photography.

The other thing that confuses is the name: its a Desire phone, the branding usually reserved for the sub-premium, non-One range. However, with the powerful Snapdragon 801 CPU, larger battery and 13MP camera, along with a Full HD 5.2-inch screen, its hard to see where the compromise has really been made here.

In fact, it seems that this phone is designed to replace the HTC One E8, which has all the same hallmarks but arguably has an inferior design - HTC is clearly getting confused over where its phone brands should be sitting.

This is also the first Desire phone thats not got a string of numbers involved - however, its clear that this should be the flagship Desire phone given it looks so much like a One device, at least in spec.

HTC Desire Eye - Design

The HTC Desire Eye might be clad in polycarbonate, but its an attractive device nonetheless. The rounded casing is not only pleasant to hold thanks to being more matte than glossy, but its also a very light yet balanced design.

I particularly like the two colour design (theres a red/white or blue/black option) which is a result of HTCs Double Shot fabrication that came with the Desire 820.

It makes the phone look nice and more premium than youd expect - when you learn its also IPX7 rated, so you can lob the HTC Desire Eye in a bucket of water without a worry, it becomes a really well made phone.

The great thing is that HTCs joined the ranks of forward-thinking designers in working out a way to leave the charging port uncovered without harming the water resistance. If only Sony would do the same thing.

The little covers over the nanoSIM or microSD slots are strangely hinged, which HTC tells me is to do with the waterproofing - although Ive no idea why.

While a little large in the hand, its impressive that HTC has managed to put in the whopping camera on the front of the phone, yet keep the Boomsound speakers that have marked its phones for years.

Whats more, despite the fact the grilles are so much thinner (placed as they are above and below the screen in a very thin strip) the sound output is comparable to the HTC One M8 and others, which means that hopefully the brand can do away with the extra bezels on the One M9.

HTC Desire Eye - Camera

Come on, I know thats why youre here. You want to see how good the camera is on this phone, front or back.

Ill summarise now: the rear camera is pretty good without being stunning. The front-facing camera is overpowered and clearly a marketing tool that actually hurts the brand in terms of output.

Perhaps saying it causes harm is a little unfair, but the truth is that the pictures you get from the front camera, especially in low light, arent as good as those on phones like the iPhone 6 or even the HTC One M8, which youd have assumed this would be superior too.

However, thats not to say you wont enjoy the results - its just that if HTC had out an 8MP option on here, a sensor that was optimised for low light and working to create a really balanced picture, it would have been a nicer photo set to share.

That said, weve already seen such things from Chinese brands already, so HTC clearly felt the need to go one better to stand out in a crowded market.

But that aside, there are a lot of clever camera additions that make the HTC Desire Eye the ultimate selfie phone. (Im doing my utmost to gloss over the fact that the narcissistic trend even exists – we dont need to see you at a place to know you were there, but thats by the by).

HTC Desire Eye - New modes

There are a number of really fun modes to play with on the new HTC Desire Eye – although the new modes will be coming to other phones in the future too, which makes the fact theyre a headline feature here slightly redundant.

The most fun is Crop-me-in, which allows you to take a front facing picture and move it into the rear facing one.

This is cropped to just your head, and although it mostly cuts your hair out, will result in some really funny options to keep you entertained.

HTC Desire Eye - Split selfies

A bit like putting yourself in the picture, a mode weve seen since the Samsung Galaxy S4, this makes more sense as its a real half and half. You can choose to take both at the same time or asynchronously, and the results are pretty fun and good to share.

One of the real advantages of having similar cameras front and back.

HTC Desire Eye - Video chat

HTC is also making a big play about the fact you can have a video chat with four people all looking at the same phone, and the Desire Eye can work out whos there and give each their own frame.

Its literally one of the only reasons I can find for this higher-res camera on the front of the phone, beyond marketing, and it does promise to make it seem more professional if youre having a business meeting with your phone (which is the only reason youd need to split people out).

Beyond that, theres the Face Fusion mode that we first saw on the HTC Desire 820 a month ago, which is lots of fun to play with and Im glad to see making its way to more phones.

The HTC Desire Eye camera is… OK. Both front and back. Its nothing special, but given the lower price, its not a bad thing. Its just not really a primary reason to buy the phone.

HTC Desire Eye - Verdict

Do I like the HTC Desire Eye? I think so. Lovely and vague, right?

The thing is, I dont really know what its for. Its a really powerful phone, one that competes with the One M8. Its got a great screen, and Im a fan of the Double Shot colour.

But I dont want 13MP cameras front and back – and I dont think the output quality from either would attract any consumers. The One M8 has a better front facing camera in low light, and given the close subject proximity, the resolution is redundant.

This is a phone thats more marketing exercise than truly compelling solution, but its not a bad smartphone underneath – lets wait and see the final price before deciding whether the Desire line has another confusing addition or not.
